The approach for Gold.fr

Our approach focused on improving the accessibility of Gold.fr based on a mobile-first strategy and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) criteria. The primary goal was to make the website accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities or the devices they use.

Steps taken

  • Accessibility audit: We began by conducting a comprehensive accessibility audit of the Gold.fr website. This audit evaluated the site's compliance with WCAG standards and identified areas for improvement using Colour Contrast Analyser, HeadingsMap, Fonts Ninja

  • Low-fidelity wireframes: Based on the audit feedback, we created low-fidelity wireframes that addressed the identified accessibility issues while maintaining the site's core functionality.

  • High-fidelity wireframes: We then developed high-fidelity wireframes, incorporating more detailed design elements while ensuring adherence to accessibility principles.

  • Accessibility annotations: We added accessibility annotations to the wireframes, specifying requirements for tab navigation and alternative text for images. This step ensured that developers would implement these crucial accessibility features.

  • Responsive design: We implemented a responsive design to ensure the website functions well across various devices and screen sizes, adhering to the mobile-first approach.
